Our annual science fair displaying student experiments and the participation of community scientists and organizations with their exhibits. Parent volunteers are needed on the day of the event, and also to assist with advanced planning.

Bartell Drugs has joined the eScrip family of merchants. Visit your local Bartell Drugs and pick up a 'B' Caring Card today. Simply ask for it at checkout and you will be asked to fill out a short form to be registered right there in the store or print and take a form with you. Please select Maplewood Heights Elementary School to support our school. It will not cost you anything to participate, this is Bartell Drugs’ way of giving back to their communities. The cashier will give you your ‘B Caring Card,’ then every time you shop up to 4% of qualifying purchases will be given to Maplewood Heights Elementary School PTA.

There are two programs available through Box Tops 4 Education:
1. Cut out box tops from General Mills products and send them to school with your child. A list of products are available at Box Tops 4 Education. FCES PTSA receives 10 cents per box top. Box tops can be turned in to your child's teacher at any time. Make sure to check the expiration so all your box tops count.
2. Go to Box Tops 4 Education and create a login with Maplewood Heights Elementary School PTSA as beneficiary. Then, click on Earn – shop Marketplace when shopping online and a percentage of your purchases goes back to our school. At the Box Tops Marketplace, you can shop at over 100 online stores like Oriental Trading, Gap, Home Depot, iTunes, Nike, Old Navy, Sears, SnapFish, Starbucks, and Lands' End.

eScrip is a hassle-free way for schools to raise funds through everyday purchases that you make from eScrip merchants.
•Register one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit, and credit cards with eScrip. To register your card(s), go to escrip ,click on sign-up, and follow the instructions. Our group name is Maplewood Heights Elementary School.
•When you shop with a participating merchant, that merchant will make contributions to your chosen group (FCES!) when you use the cards you have registered.
•Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing you to see just how much are helping your school out. You can register up to three schools. There are no receipts to collect, no vouchers or certificates to buy, no hassles for you – and every purchase counts.

For more than 30 years, Labels for Education™ has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It's a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal.
Visit Labels for Education™ to see the many products participating and clip the UPC with point value.
•Turn in Labels for Education™ UPCs to your child’s teacher.
•Complete the free sign-up at ELabels for Education™ and provide Safeway, QFC, and Fred Meyer card numbers for FCES PTSA to receive bonus points in addition to the ones you clip.

Many of the PTA sponsored activities and events take place thanks to donations from community members and businesses. Two PTA members head up this committee to procure items for donation and find corporate sponsors for larger PTA events.

Organize school-wide Eat-out-nights at various community restaurants, who then provide a portion of the proceeds to Maplewood Heights PTA.

Our first fundraiser of the year helps support our programs and events throughout the year. Parent support is very important at all levels. Volunteers needed to distribute, count, and setup for the fundraiser.

Put on twice a year, our families have the opportunity to view and purchase children's books and other literacy items. Our fall sale proceeds will go back into our school while the spring fair is a Buy One Get One free, a great way to stock up on summer reading materials.

Assists our school with its vision and hearing tests. Normally done in October, volunteers work with our school nurse and staff to ease our students through the tests in a quick and caring way.

About five times a year, we ask for MWH families to donate a potluck item for staff meal night. These nights usually coincide with a late evening for Maplewood Heights Elementary teachers. This is another was that our PTA can show our support and appreciation for all that Maplewood Heights teachers do for our students and community!
